Chicken Dignity Sighting

Chickencloseup I have a new appreciation for Chicken Dignity today after moving the 6 week old chicks from their cramped digs in the laundry room out to a temporary coop, a converted compost bin. It was amazing to watch them go from the artificial confined space of a large cardboard box into a more natural setting with dirt and bugs and compost. Their instincts for scratching and pecking and digging kicked in immediately and they are having the time of their lives. Instead of pecking at each other out of boredom they are strutting their stuff and are what I would call Happy Chickens. For more on Animal Dignity go here.
