The property tax exemption bill for non-profits hosting farmers' markets has made it out of the Finance Committee with some amendments. The final bill includes the provision that the days used for farmers' markets are limited to 53 days a year and limits the exemption to 10 years. The original bill had no limitation on days of activity in a given year or a cap on the number of years. Kudos to Rep. Ross Hunter for moving it out of the committee. Who knew such a little bill could be so complicated. The full bill as amended can be downloaded below.
